This area would cover aboutsquare kilometers. The Supreme Court of Norfolk Island has power over the islands. The laws of the Australian Capital Territory also apply here. In Junea group of activists from Australia made a symbolic political protest. They declared the Coral Sea Islands a self-governing micronation.
On November 17,this group announced that their "kingdom" was no longer active.
