Malta implemented a new law allowing lgbt country identities to be officially recognised on birth certificates, expanding beyond ID cards and passports.

Georgia banned legal gender recognition and trans-specific healthcare. Georgia eliminated all legal references to gender identity and expression, further undermining hate crime protections. Sweden adopted a new equality action plan, while Greece failed to allocate resources or monitoring mechanisms for their action plan.

This year, Liechtenstein legalised same-sex marriage. Czechia introduced a new legal framework for same-sex couples, granting registered partnerships equal rights to marriage except for joint adoptions, though second-parent adoptions are allowed. Latvia introduced civil unions for same-sex couples, granting limited rights.
