Series where nick jonad was a gay fighter

Uncategorized reelontherecord am. Tonight marks the ending of the direct tv original series Kingdom. I only started binge watching the series this past June. I only knew it simply as the show where Nick Jonas is a fighter.

But the show is so much more than that. The series stars Frank Grillo as Alvey Kalina. His true mark in the world of storytelling is most definitely his role as Alvey Kalina. In my opinion Lisa is a fighter. Not in the literal sense but her character is nothing short of a true fighter.

Lisa goes toe to toe with Alvey and whoever else tries pushing her around in the UFC world. In her life she takes all the baggage and drama and she bottles it up. Nate is the youngest Kalina. He is level headed, quiet and mindful of others. But the audience knows, and over the course of the series a few other character do too, that Nate is fighting his own inner demons — being gay.

Jay Kalina is impulsive, self destructive and also incredibly self aware. Rounding off the cast is Ryan Wheeler, who I believe is the most entertaining character. When the series opens Alvey tries to recruit Wheeler a former fighter and current ex con back into the fighting world.

I both love and hate the character of Ryan Series where nick jonad was a gay fighter. His mood and behaviour changes on a dime for no apparent reason except that he can. He is extremely clingly when it comes to all things Alvey. An example being when Wheeler and Jay were set to have a fight to determine who is the better fighter, Alvey recused himself as both of their trainers.

The other side of Ryan is that he is fiercely loyal to the Kalina family. He also loves Jay and Nate like brothers and has a deep connection with Alvey, who I believe he looks at as a surrogate father. He meets Keith at a halfway house he stays in season 1. Keith has a hard time reading social cues and is a bit strange but Ryan looks past all that and takes care of Keith.

In one particular episode a resident at the halfway house who keeps picking on Keith began antagonizing Ryan trying to get a reaction out of him or maybe a rematch fight after Ryan previously knocked him flat on his ass. Before Ryan could do anything Keith had taken a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed the man.

Ryan quickly covered it up by making it look like it was self defence. After bringing his boys to Arizona with him to visit his mother who had attempted suicide, Alvey began to reevaluate his life. More importantly his relationship with his boys. That mixed with the alcohol and a very vulnerable Alvey presented Nate the opportunity to tell his father the truth.
